Welcome Me

You can call me Number Four, since the welcome aboard from Taran has to be given its due. I'll not be hiding my name mind you, it's just that I'm in a mood. Writing in someone else's space is as formal an act for me as visiting someone else's home - meeting their family, and getting everyone settled before making the odd (or habitual) conversational gaffe.

As I take my audience from those of you who may read my  words, share my thoughts, and suffer my  indigencies, please bear in mind my motivations. There are none.
I write because I'm bad at  interpersonal relationships, maybe because I'm the guy who plays with the spoon in the teacup and stares more than is the correct amount of time at rice grains on my plate - because I'm thinking of something to scribble.

Why does someone write? I don’t really know, mind you. I can only tell you it's more of a personal pleasure to get out of bed at any old hour - even after going there at some new hour, than to contemplate going to catch a flight (at some old hour) Yes! You're working with me. See? That's why I write. I love consensus.

So now you know I don’t like travelling. There now, getting to know each other is such fun. It's not fear of flying either, it’s the officials, if you remember I'm bad at relationships? I'm especially bad at those short-lived ones with people in charge of handling people. Writing removes those people too. I sometimes wonder if there are any immigration or customs guys (term used generically) who read blogs? Hope not.

As we go on I'll be chatting about but my interests, and sometimes yours, if you share them. I'm an animal lover, by default I guess, and the reason I cannot sleep tonight is I had a dream about killing one of my horses. I'm not too sure how the sequence of events reached to that in the dream, it just did, and in that space of my subconscious time I had to hold him as the vet delivered the happy drug. Several hundred milligrams worth.

So have a good day folks - I'll be around.  Going to play with my horse.

Welcome, Bertrand. Finally, a Tobagonian blogger! :-)

For those that don't know, Bertrand's the man behind SixHorsePower and http://environmenttobago.net. Both sites are worth visiting and perusing.

two things: First,  I'm a Tobagonian by boat.  Altho I'm happily sited here - I need to geolocate my navel string. (dey talking secession u see)
Second: I changed my mind. Call me Four! - Zero Zero Four.

Well, you're in Tobago (or, more properly, on) - so your cup and string internet connection defines you a little. :-) But if there is seccession, would you want to be there or here? :-)

Until such time as fellow trinis develop a sense of community, pride of place, and practice more than rhetoric (look...don't start me nuh) I will live in cup and string country with $2bn free money for my vote - is like retiring. with beaches.

I definitely hear you. I haven't been to Tobago for about 20 years, so...

Great to have you here.  And those are some pretty impressive sites...organic farming in TT!  Wow.

Great opening post!  I think I'm going to enjoy reading your pieces.

From Number Three

PS: There's a great animated movie produced by Tim Burton called '9'.  I wonder if the first nine bloggers here will conform to the characters in that movie?

Early bird arent' you? What's your excuse? Mine is the farm. On an aside. Working on a project for elections in St Kitts and Nevis . Ruling part in power there for 15 years . Surprising parallels to us... anyone interested in relevant developments?

Sounds really interesting! I
