God's words burn...

All this talk about Quran burnings is distressing.
That any religious figure would condone burning so
close a book to the bible. May as well tell people
burn the old Testament because the new Testament is
really about Jesus. A silly argument? Just as silly
are the arguments condoning burning Qurans...

Let us get to the real heart of this matter, which
is not about Gods love but about MAN'S HATE. This
"Preacher" intends to burn publically a holy book
for his own private reasons. Ironically, his Centre
teaches that the Holy Spirit can manifest itself in
the modern day. Does he hope to create a holy flame?

I do know, from reading the various responses that
two things will be true. Firstly, that this one act
of hate will spread into a worldwide blaze. Perhaps
this is his intent? Secondly, as always, innocents
will be blamed, maimed and killed in the name of a
God, a Father that would not condone such actions.

That I am fundamentally opposed to book burning is
without question. Knowledge, shared memories and
experiences are vitally important. That I am also
opposed to religious extremism is beyond question.
We live in a world of infinite and varied creation,
why do we think God created ONLY ONE religion?

If the madness of the few, can not be stopped, then
we must prepare for the anger of many, not just of
Muslims but of those that truely believe in a God
of Love. That anger, I fear, may become an excuse
by a few others to capitalise on this excuse to do
more hateful acts and further widen the divide...

Where does such hate begin? It begins in a personal
loss, a mindless belief, a unmentioned fear and in
the hearts and minds of people. Where does such hate
end? I fear it may have no end, an endless series of
misunderstandings and deliberate misdeeds. If it has
an end, it must be when we come together as PEOPLE...

I myself will wake up on September 11th, the infamous
9/11 and spend a moment praying that by some miracle
we find a way to see beyond that day, one way or the
other, without harbouring hate. I do not speak for
God but I hope that everyone out there will listen
when I say God's love will NEVER stem from hate...

Please do not give in to HATE...
