According to this Trinidad Express news story, of 9th Jan 2010, some knives masquerading as pens have been on sale for months in T&T.  Just in time for Carnival.  So the TT Police Service are warning fete promoters to be on the lookout for them.

Apparently, they seized whatever remaining stock was available, but didn't detain the merchants because they claimed the 'pens' were letter openers.  Despite them having serrated edges.

Well, Officers, I have a cutlass that can open letters at home.  So if you see me walking down the street with it for Carnival, don't study me.  I'm just heading to the post office.
